Plant and Resource Co-ordinator

The Role:

Ross Reid are looking for a Plant and Resource Co-ordinator to join our great family based company. We are focused on land development projects across Auckland currently with a view to expand into other avenues and infrastructure projects. The core function of this role is to ensure that Ross Reid projects are run in and constructed  in a productive, efficient manner and the requirement of all civil standards including time, safety environmental, cost and quality.  Ross Reid has history of repeat business because our reputation is second to none.

Experience and Skillset:

  • Reports to direct line report of Operations manager, has direct line support from the contracts and General manager as required.
  • Responsible for the management of the Heavy Haulage division (eventually).
  • Responsible for ensuring the best utilisation of plant and resources is maintained throughout all contracts. Production of equipment is utilised to the best production. This includes visiting site to look at plant requirements are met or removed is over resourced or under resourced.
  • Must have an eye for wasting fuel, or equipment being underutilised.
  • Responsible for over viewing disciplinary procedures in conjunction with Human Resource Manager.
  • Responsible for all onsite Site Supervisors & plant operators, annual reviews & assists with setting pay rates in conjunction with HR & General Manager.
  • Managing training and reviews.
  • Ensuring compliance with all legal requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act 2015 and Building Act.
  • Controlling the plant hires to external companies including hire agreements and rates.
  • Running sundry jobs including pricing.
  • Final says on hiring in of external plant including agreement of rates in conjunction with the Contracts Manager.
  • Liaising with Workshop Manager and General Manager in relation to all plant issues.
  • Liaising with managers and interviewing employees at all levels to identify and assess training and development needs.

  • Issue of Certification of Competence (T04)
  • Has overall responsibility for training employees up to and including site foreman and supervisors.
  • Maintaining all personnel training records, including skills cards.
  • Delivering and overseeing the training of individuals or groups of employees.
  • Compliance with all legal requirements, Resource Management Act, Health and Safety in Employment Act, Building Act.
  • Compiling and presenting information. Designing and assessing training programmes. Ensuring employees receive statutory required training.
  • Implementing, advising on and monitoring appraisal schemes. Supervising and monitoring progress made via training programmes or schemes.
