On Gas

Client: On Gas Ltd
Location: 37N Hunua Road, Papakura

The OnGas Bottleswap Facility – Site Works contract consisted of Earthworks, forming a Carpark and Building Platforms, 14,150m2 of 150mm thick concrete slab yard area, Stormwater and Sewer reticulation including two stormwater retention ponds, Watermain Power and Gas reticulation, Retaining Walls, and landscaping and planting areas.

Of the contract value of $5,925,000 over $2,000,000 was variation works which mainly consisted of remediation works of an old ‘landfill area’ that was discovered, lime and cement stabilisation of fill capping over the old refuse, removal of Asbestos from site, and additional thickness of the concrete slab and sub-base metal that was required to bridge the poor quality subgrade material.

The main bottling plant building covers 40 meters by 70 meters and we were required to remove over one meter of subgrade clay from site and replace with MANARC 65 and MANARC 40, compacted in 150mm layers, also as a variation to the contract.

There was also an exclusion zone around an area of native bush that required all plant and machinery as well as material handled in that area to be treated as containing Kauri die-back disease.

This Project was management intensive and required a lot of attention to detail in order to bring the project to a successful conclusion.

Project Scope:
