Location: Gulf Harbour, Auckland
The contract works involved extending the existing Gulf Harbour Marina. The overall extension involved bulk earthworks to an RL 4.5m below sea level. The works were carried out in stages and involved significant dewatering and excavation below sea level. The bund removal was carried out at low tides and the sediment control was carried out by installing a floating silt curtain.
There was cut to stockpile of about 45,000m3, backfill behind concrete retaining walls, flowable concrete fill for retaining wall foundations, and riprap construction within the high tide level up to a depth of 7m.
